Practical management training for teams in Gatineau and across Quebec. We teach real skills your managers will use on Monday morning.
Most management training feels like a lecture. Ours feels like practice.
We started Strong Leadership Trainer after watching too many newly promoted managers struggle in silence. They got the title but nobody taught them how to give feedback, run a meeting that matters, or handle the employee who keeps missing deadlines.
Our programs are built around scenarios pulled from real workplaces in Gatineau and the Ottawa-Gatineau region. Participants practice difficult conversations, delegation frameworks, and priority-setting exercises during each session. They leave with tools they can apply the same week.
Every workshop is capped at 12 participants. That limit exists because management training only works when people talk, make mistakes, and get coached in real time. A room of 40 people watching slides does not change behaviour.
Each program runs as a standalone workshop or part of a multi-session package tailored to your team.
A two-day intensive for managers with under 18 months of experience. We cover the shift from individual contributor to leader: setting expectations, one-on-one meeting structures, and how to address performance gaps without damaging trust. Participants role-play five common scenarios drawn from Quebec workplaces and receive written feedback from our facilitator.
Half-day workshop focused exclusively on the conversations managers dread. Delivering negative feedback, saying no to a request from a strong performer, addressing attendance problems. We use a structured method: state the observation, describe the impact, ask for their perspective, agree on next steps. Participants practice with trained actors who respond the way real employees do.
Managers who try to do everything themselves burn out and stall their team's growth. This one-day program teaches a four-level delegation model: observe, assist, lead with check-ins, own fully. Each participant maps their current task load and identifies at least three responsibilities to delegate before the session ends. We follow up two weeks later to review progress.
When a team has lost momentum, this two-session program helps the manager diagnose the root cause. Is it unclear roles? Unresolved conflict? Misaligned goals? We run a confidential survey of team members before the first session so the manager walks in with real data. Session two focuses on building a 30-day action plan the manager commits to with their team present.
For directors and senior managers who need a confidential sounding board. Six bi-weekly sessions of 75 minutes each. We work on the specific challenges you bring to the table: restructuring a department, preparing for a board presentation, handling a high-stakes hire, or managing up. Coaching sessions happen in person at our Gatineau office or via secure video call.
We design multi-week programs for organizations with 20 or more managers. You tell us the problems: high turnover, inconsistent performance reviews, weak meeting culture. We build a curriculum around those issues, deliver it on-site or at our training centre, and measure outcomes at 30 and 90 days. Programs typically run four to eight half-day sessions spread over two months.
From first call to measurable results, here is what to expect.
A 30-minute conversation where we learn about your team size, current challenges, and goals. No sales pitch.
We review your situation and recommend a program format: workshop, coaching, or blended. You receive a detailed proposal within five business days.
Sessions run at your location, our Gatineau training space, or online. Every session includes hands-on exercises and individual feedback.
Two weeks and 90 days after the program, we check in with participants and their supervisors to see what stuck and what needs reinforcement.
